The style and energy of a gypsy dance is found in this solo through the composer's use of crisp staccatos, accents and changes in tempo. Written in D major and A-B form with a coda, it takes on a modal character with the use of accidentals and parallel triads. Careful attention to all of the details will make this piece an exciting one for both the performer and the audience. It is destined to find its way on to recital and contest lists alike.
