Sales Associate

Summary

Graves Piano is currently seeking a highly polished and professional Sales Associate with a passion for luxury and a love of the musical arts for our showroom in Central Ohio. This role is an essential part of overall business success, responsible for driving and executing piano sales goals, as well as representing brand integrity of both Graves Piano and our Steinway & Sons affiliation.

The successful candidate has a proven track record in a proactive sales environment, with past experience in luxury sales, business development, or customer service. This candidate is someone who demonstrates a commitment to excellence, hard work, unquestionable character, and high achievement; and must be someone with an outgoing and engaging personality who can engage and build trusted relationships with clients on many different levels. While the ability to play piano is not a requirement for the job, it is highly preferred. Musical and tonal understanding is required as clients often seek guidance and recommendations during instrument selections. In addition to focusing on showroom sales, a large part of this job will involve outreach and business development to accomplish the complete sales cycle of identifying, cultivating, and closing.

Main Responsibilities:

Achieve personal sales goals and support store in achieving goals

Identify and cultivate customer leads and relationships, using CRM to track and follow up

In collaboration with CEO, implement a sales referral outreach program for key influencers (i.e. piano technicians, real estate agents, designers, piano teachers, etc.)

Coordinate with team to ensure all piano technical needs following each sale

Manage retail sales and retail store presentation, promotions, and closing events

Resolve customer issues in a timely manner

Support Graves’ event series, and prospecting/cultivating events

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred; high level of professionalism and integrity required

Experience with selling to individuals,
preferably with pianos or other luxury brand

    
Minimum of 2 years sales experience in a commission-based environment

Outstanding business development and polished interpersonal
skills

Superior communication (including listening), planning, and organizational skills

Basic knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and CRM functions

Highly motivated, results-oriented
self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work
independently to drive new business

Music Background (piano preferred, but not required)

Operations Supervisor

Summary

The Operations Supervisor is a fulltime role that supports back-of-house operations, including inventory flow, process and quality control, piano prep, general facility and vehicle upkeep, and communication. This position requires a combination of hands-on operations experience, product knowledge, and ability to work well with all parts of the team.

The successful candidate is someone with a strong character, positive attitude, and hard work ethic who wants to be a part of a locally owned and growing small business where each team member has an impact. This person demonstrates organization and flexibility, enjoys serving with excellence and working in a team setting, and can handle the physical moving parts of an operational warehouse with large products. Past experience in piano/furniture/wood finishing repair, inventory sourcing/intake/preparation is preferred. The position requires strong computer and communication skills. Most activities occur during M-F business hours, with occasional evening/weekend support.

Main Responsibilities

Piano Inventory 
Serve as primary point person for flow and quality control for piano inventory, including incoming, onsite, stored, and outgoing pianos, as well as project/pipeline management for service and repairs, documentation, showroom placement, and final make-ready coordination.


Provide team lead function for back-of-house activities, working closely with piano technicians, finish/repair techs, and Operations

Coordinator to ensure clear communication and smooth day-to-day operations.

Review & screen potential consignment/purchase inventory, in collaboration with team.

Lead internal piano transport, including moving and setting up inventory throughout warehouse and retail store, photo studio, as well as occasional offsite piano moves when applicable.

Serve as piano case and cosmetic repair oversite (and/or execution if qualified)

Facility and General Operations

Oversee in-house facility upkeep (cleaning and major repairs/maint. outsourced) and handle routine vehicle maintenance scheduling and logging for company vehicles.

Support front-of-house and general business activities, including help with event set up and special projects as needed.

Supervisory  
Serve as central point of contact for back-of-house team, determining priority of projects to achieve team goals and clearly communicating with team (service, repairs, tunings, etc.).

Maintain documentation for service logs, inventory pipeline, and intake log

Co-lead weekly service team meeting, report KPIs in staff meetings and contribute to leadership team meetings.

Maintain a safe and organized working environment.

Model and uphold company mission and values without compromise.

Skills and Experience

Operations oversight with the ability to build and maintain rapport with team.

Organized, detail oriented, consistent and diligent follow up/follow through, ability to handle multiple tasks.

Valid driver’s license required for occasional driving of company vehicles

Strong communication skills for varying
appropriate levels (internal, external, subordinate, leadership, etc.)

Role is physical in nature; requires ability to load/move pianos, lift up to 75 pounds, stand/walk.

Events and Marketing Assistant (Part-time)

Summary

The Events and Marketing Assistant is a part-time role that supports Graves Piano’s events and general marketing activities. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and quality brand integrity on behalf of both Graves Piano and Steinway & Sons.

The successful candidate is someone who is warm and engaging, demonstrates confidence and flexibility, enjoys serving people with excellence, and stays highly organized. Past experience in events, hospitality, customer service, retail, and digital marketing is preferred; appreciation for music a must. The position requires strong communication skills and digital/technical proficiency. Most events take place on evenings and weekends, so the candidate must be available for the majority of event needs throughout the year.

Main Responsibilities

Events

Assist with all aspects of performance and member event coordination, including set-up/tear-down, reception planning, registration and ticketing, and hosting, providing expert customer service while maintaining run-of-show coordination (in conjunction with team).

Serve as guest liaison for bar/drink service for VIP Patrons during private VIP pre-receptions.

Support weekend retail team for key outside events for recital hall rental customers (studio recitals, Competitions, receptions, etc.)

Support guest artist needs, in conjunction with team, including prep of green room, rehearsal spaces, and special requests.

maintain event supplies, including stocking, organizing, and cleaning.

Marketing
Support sales and marketing through data and CRM projects

Capture photo and video content of events for marketing materials, including timely and accurate cataloguing in company files.

Create digital marketing content for social media, e-mail, website, and collateral

Ensure that reception areas are kept presentable and tidy, office supplies and marketing collateral are stocked, and customer-facing spaces maintain brand standards.

Other

Support general business administration, special projects, and CEO as needed 

Skills and Experience
